Mahruba Khanam, is a public health professional and a PhD fellow in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Antwerp, Belgium. She holds MSc in Public Health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) Antwerp, Belgium; an Advanced Diploma in Health Care Management in Tropical Countries from Switzerland; and a Master of Social Science (Sociology) from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. Prior to joining BHW, Ms. Khanam worked with the Medical Sociology Department of the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), Department of Public Health and Informatics, BSMMU, and the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research Bangladesh (CIPRB). Having worked within the Govt. & NGO health sectors for over 12 years, she developed a wide range of skills in research and programs of child safety and reproductive health. Her expertise concentrates on health system research, both qualitative and quantitative, Injury prevention, Child drowning, ECD, and livelihood development. Project Management and Process, Capacity Building and Stewardship. She is serving as the focal person of Research of Bangladesh Health Watch.
