Bagerhat district health rights youth forum formed with a commitment to protect citizen

District Health Rights Youth Forum formation and Orientation meeting was held on 7 October 2021 at Dhansiri Training Center of Bagerhat. The meeting was arranged by District Health Rights Forum (DHRF) and supported by Bangladesh Health Watch (BHW) and Rupantar. A Total of 25 youth including 15 boys and 10 girls attended the meeting. The youth group expressed their commitment to work voluntarily to enhance the quality health services and protect peoples’ health rights in Bagerhat. President of DHRF and former president of Bagerhat Press Club Advocate Md. Shah Alam Tuku was present in the meeting as the chief guest.

 Khaleda Hossain Moon, Project Coordinator, Rupantar welcomed everyone and explained the objective of the meeting. Shashanka Baran Roy discussed about the health service situation of the country, objective, activities of Bangladesh Health Watch and potential role of youth to protect peoples’ health rights. Youth participants joined the discussion and shared their opinion.

 At discussion session, the youth members showed their interesst and commitment to work with District Health Rights Forum as volunteer. Following a perticipatory discussion they formed a 25 members committee of District Health Rights Youth Forum in a democratic way. Md. Shariful Islam elected Coordinator and Ms. Sharmin Akter Priya & Md. Naimur Harman elected as Join-Coordinator.
