Kurigram- citizen's platform started its journey at the district level to improve the health right to all

Inspired by Bangladesh Health Watch, The District Health Rights Forum, Kurigram has embarked on a journey with a strong commitment to ensure the primary health care of the poor and marginalized people in the area with a view to positively changing the existing health picture and establishing the right to health for all.

The first meeting was chaired by Harun Or Rashid Lal, Executive Director of the local development organization Solidarity and attended by members of the Right to Health Forum. Different views were adopted on the role of the Right to Health Forum in improving the quality of health care in Kurigram district and ensuring accountability, citizens participation in healthcare.

Health Rights Forum are groups of citizens with high degree of integrity, social acceptability, courage, and leadership capacity to inform, motivate and mobilize citizens in various activities for health rights and promoting accountable health institutions. Advocacy at the local level is carried out through civic engagement on the basis of findings from service receivers in health service institutions.
