To ensure equality, accountability and participation in improving the quality of health services at Manikganj a civil society forum namely District Health Rights Youth Forum was formed on 30 September 2021. BARCIK will provide secretarial support to the forum with the support of Bangladesh Health Watch (BHW)
Chief Coordinator of BHW Mr. Shaikh Masudul Alam chaired the program while Co-ordinator (Field Operations) Mr. Shashanka Baran Roy facilitated the orientation session. Regional Coordinator of BARCIK Manikganj Mr. Bimal Chandra Roy and Principal (Retd) Md. Monowar Hossain was present on behalf of BARCIK.
After an extensive review, a 25-member Districts Health Rights Youth Forum (DHRYF) was formed comprising one-third women members in the opinion of the members present. Mizanur Rahman Ridoy was selected as coordinator of the forum.
Mr. Shashanka Baran Roy gave a comprehensive overview of the main goals and principles of the National Health Policy, achievements and challenges in the health sector, BHW Framework, activities, website and social media pages of Healthwatch.
Mushfiqur Rahman Nibir, one of the participants, said, "We voluntarily do blood donating, provide protection to the sick, plant trees and provide winter clothes. With the support of BARCIK and Bangladesh Health Watch we hope that we could contribute to positive change in the health sector at Manikganj.”
In his speech, Shaikh Masudul Alam said that the determination and courage of the youth of Manikganj will be more helpful in increasing the quality of health services in Manikganj.
