Chapainawabganj District Health Rights Forum has been formed to create a supportive environment for sustainable development in healthcare by creating public awareness, increasing transparency and accountability, and ensuring public participation in all stages of quality healthcare at the local level. The forum was formed with the support of Bangladesh Health Watch and managed by Proyas Human Development Society. An orientation meeting was held at Nakib Hossain Conference room at Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society office, Chapainawabganj at 11am on 25 October 2021.
The major objective of the event was to introduce District Health Rights Forum and its activities to government health officials, non-government organizations, civil society, and journalists of the region.
Professor Sultana Razia, Retired Principal of Nawabganj Government College and President of District Health Rights Forum, presided over the function while Civil Surgeon's representative Dr. Shahnaz Khatun attended as special guest.
Professor Sultana Razia hoped that the district health rights forum will act as a bridge between the health department and the citizen in accessing public health services.
Hasib Hossain, Executive Director of Prayas Manobik Unnayan Society and General Secretary of District Health Rights Forum spoke on the occasion. Shashank Baran Roy, field coordinator of Bangladesh Health Watch, highlighted the aims and objectives of the Right to Health Forum. The program was conducted by Abdus Salam, Program Manager (Training) of Prayas.
Mahbubul Alam, President of Chapainawabganj Press Club, Dablu Kumar Ghosh, General Secretary of Chapainawabganj District Press Club, Aleya Ferdous, Station Manager of Radio Mahananda, members of District Health Rights Forum, representatives of Bangladesh Health Watch and other officials of Prayas also attended the programme.
