Service recipients raised different demands to hospital authorities for getting quality healthcare service in District Hospital  Chapainawabganj

The multistakeholder meeting was held on 28th December (Wednesday) at 11:00 am in the Civil Surgeon office hall room of Chapanawabganj for an exchange of views on improving the quality of service of District Sadar Hospital.Hospital. Health Service providers, Health Rights Forum’s members from District and Upazila, Health Right Youth Forum members and the representatives of different health service-providing institutions and recent service receivers have participated in the meeting.

A unique example of public participation and accountability at the local level in health care service, where the service users raise their voice on the service delivery system to the CS representative and RMO of Nachol Upazila Health Complex.

District Health Rights Forum President Prof. Hoseara Hasi chaired the meeting and was a representative of the Civil Surgeon office (Gynecologist). The meeting was moderated by Md. Faruque Ahmed, Program Coordinator, Prayas. He has started the meeting with the briefing of the purpose of meeting  and service delivery process and hospital management at a glance, 

Asma Akter, Field Programme Coordinator, Bangladesh Health Watch has given the welcome speech and thanks for participating in the meeting. 

District Health Right Forum and Upazila Health Right Form present the status of District   and Upazila Hospital staff allocation and available staff.

Some recent service receivers from Community Clinic, Upazila Health Complex and District General Hospital of Chapainawabganj shared their experience during service reception. Some of them had good feelings and some faced ignorance from service providers, they also raised their expectations from service providers.

Dr.Asadur Rahman Biplob, Residential Medical Officer Upazila Health Complex, Nachol and Civil Surgeon representative described the service delivery system of District and Upazila Hospital and human resource gap in the service center.

In spite of all these things service providers are trying to provide the best service like consultation, diagnostic tests in hospitals and also doing some campaigning for raising awareness at the community level. He said, now regular ultrasonogram and pathology tests are being done in the hospital. Maternal mortality and infant mortality rates are  decreasing day by day.

 

 Dr. Shifat has given a brief presentation on the conducted Client Feedback Study and Mr. Faruque Ahmed facilitated the open discussion and the service provider has given all the questions.

Representatives of Health Right Youth Forum from District and Upazila were present there and described their activities and how they feel for doing such volunteer activities. 

After a very fruitful discussion Upazila Health Right Forum president Md…… expressed his feeling about Health Right Forum activities and his engagement and thanks to Health Right Youth Forum for their participation and activities. They also encourage them and request to keep continuing their activities. 

At the end of meeting Ms. Hosnara Hasi DHRF president conclude the meeting with some recommendations;

  • Request to the service provider for keep patience during service delivery 
  • Respect to the patient and counseling with good attitude 
  • Request to Hospital Authority to maintain the queue for the patient 
  • Provide the medicines to the patient properly 
  • Special care to the women, children and elderly person during service provide 
  • If possible, allocation a waiting for Pregnant Women 
  • Request to authority for ANC and PNC in Community Clinic 

After all the discussions, the president gave thanks to all participants for their active participation in the cold weather Specially RMO, UHC Nachol , PROYAS and Bangladesh Health Watch for arranging such a meeting
