The District Health Rights Forum (DHRF) of Bagerhat has conducted a sharing meeting with health authority of Bagerhat on 7 October 2021. President of DHRF Mr. Shah Alam Tuku, Upazila Vice-Chairman and DHRF member Rizia Parvin, DHRF member Taslim Ahmed Tongkar, Milon Kumar Banarjee, District Correspondent of Somoy TV Ali Akbar Tutul and Bangladesh Health Watch (BHW) representative Shashanka Baran Roy attended the meeting. Shah Alam Tuku and Shashanka Baran Roy shared the objectives and activities of the BHW and its Regional Chapter of Bagerhat. They mentioned that the citizens platform is eager to support heath authority to achieve the goal of the sector.

 The Deputy Civil Surgeon of Bagerhat Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman welcomed the citizens’ initiative. He expressed his willingness to support BHW program. He mentioned that there are many limitations like shortage of human resources that creates obstacle to provide quality service to the people. He requested DHRF leaders to work collectively to achieve the health goal of the government. The health authority and civil society leaders expressed interest in working together in the future to enhance the quality of health service in Bagerhat.
